Here’s a tough one: what can you do if someone you know has a problem with drugs or alcohol? You want to help. But how do you know the best thing to say or the best time to say it? Were you ever at a party with a friend who’d had a few too many beers and then insisted on driving you both home? Did you get in the passenger seat and hope for the best, or did you refuse? Did you take the car keys away before he could hurt himself or anyone else? Or did you choose not to confront him? Or, have you ever turned to a family member or another adult you trusted to help you help a friend with a drug or alcohol problem? If you’ve had an experience like this and want to share how you handled it, or what resources you turned to, you might be able to help other teens who find themselves in the same situation.
